Your Liberal Democrat team in The Wrythe
Rukhsar, Ian and Colin
Rukhsar Askari, Ian Simpson, Colin Stears and the Lib Dem team are working hard all year round, listening to residents and taking actions on your priorities.
Recently, they have held TfL to account for issues with the 80 bus route, helped to restore stretches of the River Wandle including near Culvers Avenue, and backed local businesses around Wrythe Green by improving parking. They have worked with the police to increase local patrols and keep our area one of the safest in London.
Your team is standing up for residents by taking on the cost of living, fighting for our local health services and campaigning for better public transport.
With your support on May 7th, Rukhsar, Ian and Colin will continue to work hard for local residents and deliver for The Wrythe.
Rukhsar is a solicitor who volunteers at a women’s charity, providing free legal support to survivors of domestic violence.
She lives in The Wrythe and enjoys spending time in local parks with her toddler; recently she helped get faulty play equipment in Dale Park replaced. Rukhsar also volunteers with her local church, supporting families in the community, and is a member of the Neighbourhood Watch.
Ian is a public policy researcher and local parent who is actively involved in the community.
He is a member of the Friends of Wrythe Recreation Ground, where he helps maintain the park, plant flowers, and supported efforts to secure new disability-inclusive play equipment. Ian is also a member of the Neighbourhood Watch, a school’s Parent Teacher Association, and his local church council.
Colin is a long serving local councillor who has helped hundreds of residents with issues to access the support they need. He has dedicated over 50 years to the NHS and continues to work part-time supporting GP surgeries across South London.
Colin is also a trustee of several local charities, including health and veterans’ charities. He is always on hand to help.
