Your Sutton Central Liberal Democrat team
Richard, Cryss and Ed
Richard, Cryss and Ed are the Lib Dem team fighting for local people in Sutton Central.
They have a proven track record of delivering for the local community having already served as councillors for four years. Their experience means they know what it takes to make sure our area has a strong voice in the council chamber.
They have already been part of the hard work the local Lib Dem council and Luke Taylor MP have been doing to secure new investment in our high streets, keep our borough one of the safest places to live in the country and make sure that help is available to families struggling with the cost of living crisis.
Unlike the other parties, Richard, Cryss and Ed are regularly out and about in our community, knocking on doors and fixing local issues.
Together, they will fight for our area's future, making sure that nobody is left behind and that local residents and groups are involved in decision making about the issues that matter most to them.
When he won the local by-election last year, Richard became the first Hong Konger councillor in Sutton - representing our vibrant and strong local Hong Konger community. He has hit the ground and helped residents from all backgrounds already - including by helping out at the Sutton Community Project foodbank, holding biweekly meetings for older residents, and helping people who have moved here integrate fully to become strong contributors to our local community.
In his professional life, Richard has two decades of experience as an Industrial Designer and has worked with some of the biggest global brands - a career in which he has received 23 design awards and developed 26 patents.
Cryss has a wealth of professional experience - and is a Chartered HR professional, so she knows what it takes to bring people together around a common goal. As a councillor she has helped many local people with their problems - particularly around navigating all-too-often complicated forms and processes to get the help they need!
Cryss has also volunteered at a local foodbank and seen firsthand the challenges people are facing in this cost of living crisis - and will keep fighting for action locally and nationally to get support to those who need it.
Ed was born and raised in our area - and is passionate about making sure people can build a great life for themselves in our neighbourhood. As a councillor he has brought much needed housing and business opportunities to the borough, and has supported community groups like the Lenham Road Community Garden.
He believes in high-quality housing and living conditions - which is why he sits on the board of Sutton Housing Partnership and pushes for the best possible standards for local people, including delivering the recent heating and hot water cost reductions for council tenants with communal heating.
