“The British people are sick of it” - Sutton MPs react to PM’s resignation

Following Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation as Prime Minister, Sutton’s Liberal Democrat MPs have called for “bold” action to fix the country.

Luke Taylor, MP for Sutton and Cheam, said:

“Almost ten years to the day since the Brexit vote, and the chaos that result unleashed still infects our politics.

“The British people are sick of it. We need real leadership to fix our broken politics so we can get on with fixing our country. If the next occupant of No.10 doesn't get start with electoral and constitutional reform, then it's back on the exhausting merry-go-round we go.”

Bobby Dean, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, said:

“The next PM must focus relentlessly on the economy: go big on capital investment into homes, energy and transport, take on radical tax reform to incentivise job creation and growth, and be brave enough to fix our relationship with the EU. The bolder the better.”
