Tackling fly-tipping in St Helier
St Helier East Liberal Democrat councillors Paul Cole and Gemma Munday are working with the council to tackle residents' concerns about fly-tipping on Middleton Road and in surrounding areas.
Hotspots around Maynooth Gardens and Watermead Lane have been identified, where easy vehicle access has led to repeated illegal dumping.
The councillors are working with council officers to explore measures to deter offenders and keep the area clean.
When fly-tips have been reported, Councillors are ensuring they are cleared within 24 hours.
Cllr Gemma Munday said: “Residents are rightly frustrated by the repeated fly-tipping in these areas. We are working with the council to find practical solutions that deter offenders, protect our neighbourhoods and keep our streets clean.”
