Supporting residents stranded by broken lift

Wallington South councillors Sam Martin and Jayne McCoy supported residents when the lift in ten-storey Hendfield Court broke down for three months.

They visited the block on several occasions knocking on doors, speaking to and reassuring residents. Many residents are elderly and were unable to enter and leave their homes without the lift.

The councillor team worked with the housing management company to ensure a replacement part for the lift was procured.
