Bobby Dean is calling more information on the dangers of screen time to be given to new parents.

Recent studies by the 1001 Critical Days foundation highlights that screen time for young infants is linked to long-term negative effects on health and quality of life.

Unfortunately, routine screen use is now normal for babies under two, and one in 10 are exposed to more than four hours of screen-time per day.

Bobby spoke during a parliamentary debate on the Infant, Parents and Carers Bill, and called for clearer warnings on infant screen time to be given to new parents.

Speaking after the debate, Bobby Dean MP said,

“I am experiencing parenthood myself, and I know how difficult it is to keep a baby calm. I completely understand why parents use devices as a means of regulating their child, but I do not think that the damage being done is well understood.

“It is essential that new guidance is set out on infant screentime, to inform parents on the harm it can cause during a child’s early development."
