Police target illegal e-bikes and drug dealing

Police are stepping up action to tackle local concerns, with increased enforcement against anti-social e-bike use and extra patrols planned at known drug dealing hotspots over the summer.

These updates were shared at the latest Local Police Panel meeting, which was attended by Lib Dem Cllr Colin Stears. The panel meets regularly with councillors, residents and the Neighbourhood Police Team to discuss priorities for the area.

Reporting back on the meeting, Cllr Colin Stears said: "I was pleased to reinforce concerns about the misuse of e-bikes. Police reported that they had carried out more than 30 e-bike stops in the past two months.

“During the summer there will also be increased patrols targeting known locations where drug use has been reported.

"Residents can sign up to Met Engage to stay up to date with local issues and find out what's happening in our area."
