Lib Dems fight to cut local GP waiting times

A recent survey conducted by Sutton Liberal Democrats found that long GP waiting times are people’s number one healthcare issue.

Lib Dem MPs, Bobby Dean and Luke Taylor, and local councillors have been raising residents’ frustrations with waiting times and difficulties booking appointments with local GP practices across Sutton.

The Lib Dem team is now calling on local GPs to implement recommendations put forward by Healthwatch Sutton — an independent watchdog for local healthcare — to make booking GP appointments easier and improve communication with patients.

Barry Lewis, leader of Lib Dem-led Sutton Council said:
“Local people’s health is paying the price for years of Conservative cuts to our NHS but the Lib Dems are fighting for the high quality healthcare that people deserve.”
