HGV ban comes into force on Foresters Drive

Liberal Democrats have successfully secured a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) ban covering the route along Sandy Lane South, Foresters Drive and Plough Lane, between Stafford Road and the A2022.

The new restrictions will reduce noise and pollution from lorries along the road.

Lib Dem South Beddington & Rounshaw Councillor Ed Joyce, who has been working on the issue on behalf of residents, welcomed the change.

He said: “Residents have raised concerns for a long time about the impact of heavy goods vehicles using Foresters Drive. We’ve worked hard with Croydon Council to get this ban agreed, and it’s great to see it now coming into force.”
