“Vital” Sutton Seniors Forum praised for shining a light on older residents’ issues
Bobby Dean, MP for Carshalton & Wallington, attended the Sutton Seniors Forum AGM on 20 March at Sutton Civic Centre, hearing from local residents about the issues that matter most to them.
Sutton Seniors Forum is a registered charity that works to promote the welfare and interests of seniors living in our borough. Run entirely by volunteers, the Forum hosts a wide range of events and activities throughout the year, as well as providing an important space for older residents to share concerns and make their voices heard.
At the AGM, Bobby answered questions from attendees on a range of topics, including pensions, the future of St Helier Hospital, assisted dying, and the ongoing pressures caused by the cost of living.
Bobby Dean MP commented:
“Sutton Seniors Forum is absolutely vital. It brings people together, shines a light on the issues older residents are facing, and makes sure decision-makers hear directly from the people affected. I’m hugely grateful to the volunteers who give their time to keep the Forum going, and I was really pleased to be able to join the AGM and answer questions.”
Bobby thanked the Forum’s committee and volunteers for organising the event and reiterated his commitment to championing older residents locally and in Parliament.
