Bobby Dean MP Attends Successful Apprenticeship Information Event at South Thames College Carshalton

Bobby Dean MP was proud to attend the Apprenticeship Information Event for South Thames Colleges Group (STCG), showcasing the breadth of training and career pathways available across the campuses, including here in Carshalton. The event offered attendees the chance to explore how apprenticeships work, meet expert tutors, and speak directly with employers about live opportunities and entry routes.

A wide range of organisations were represented, including employers from community services, construction, engineering, healthcare and business. Exhibitors such as JCP Community Work Coach, RBK, Croydon NHS, Murphy’s, Berkeley Homes, Cardo Group, Cubic, Positive +, The Shore Group and EQUANS were on hand to discuss upcoming roles and the skills they seek in new apprentices.

It was great to see the wide range of courses on offer, alongside so many local employers showcasing the opportunities available. I was also delighted to present local apprentice Josh with his 'Apprentice of the Week' certificate and to hear more about his inspiring journey.” 

The Liberal Democrats have long championed expanding high‑quality apprenticeships and ensuring training is properly funded, accessible and responsive to the needs of local employers. Events like this demonstrate just how valuable apprenticeships are in unlocking talent, boosting productivity and widening opportunity across our communities.
