Sutton Council is leading the way on green innovation by becoming the first London borough to trial a zero-carbon approach to heating and insulating homes.
As part of the Lib Dem-run Council's plan to tackle the climate emergency, Sutton Housing Partnership has began transforming up to 100 homes. The trials are also expected to deliver lower energy bills for residents.
Using the Energiesprong initiative, homes will have their walls and ceilings insulated against heat loss, windows and doors replaced, and a solar panel-powered central heating and ventillation system installed.
The upgrades are the latest in Sutton Council's progress in tackling the climate emergency and meeting the house needs of residents, after last weeks announcement that the Council's Denmark Road office will be converted into new homes.
