The Methodist Church on Beddington Gardens has sadly found that it cannot afford the extensive repairs needed to the Victorian church and its roof.
The congregation therefore agreed to build a new modern church in its place, with the funds provided by selling the land to the rear of the site for development as flats.
The planning application for the new church was approved in September 2014. The Church has now submitted an outline application dealing with the access to the residential development from Shotfield.
Your councillors think that new housing here is welcome, as long as the design sits well in context and there is adequate social housing provision in the plans.
We think that the amount of cars using a single access point could cause problems of congestion in Shotfield and the road layout may need some modification to cope. However we need to hear your views on this matter - please contact Steve, Jayne and Muhammad on [email protected]
