Sutton Council Beats Home Building Targets

Sutton’s Lib Dem-run council built over 550 new homes last year, beating its target by 132.

These have been built following the Council’s approach to protecting suburban heartlands and make a significant contribution towards meeting the local communities housing needs. 146 of these are new affordable homes, with most located in Sutton Town Centre and District Centres across the borough.

Sutton Council also delivered 12,000m2 of new commercial floorspace last year, which will support new jobs and aid the borough’s economic recovery. The progress surpassed the Mayor of London’s 5-year housing target of 2,242 new homes, with plans to produce 2,700 homes underway.
