Sutton Borough has been rated as the best place in London to raise a family by Spectator magazine.
The magazine compared all 32 boroughs in the capital city with regard to green spaces, quality of schools and housing affordability, with the top 3 of Sutton, Richmond-upon-Thames and Kingston, all being run by Liberal Democrat councils.
Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council, said:
"I am delighted that our borough has been so highly rated and recognised as a great place to live. The Spectator magazine emphasised our green spaces, low noise pollution and excellent schools. Whilst Sutton is still one of the more affordable London boroughs when it comes to housing, we do of course recognise the need for more genuinely affordable housing across the capital, to deal with the housing crisis.
"With the top 3 rated boroughs all run by Liberal Democrat councils, this goes to show that by working closely with our communities, we can deliver green, safe and thriving boroughs where people can enjoy an excellent standard of life".
