The GoSutton bus is an innovative, on-demand scheme which picks up residents close to where they live and takes them to any destination across most parts of the borough.
Although Sutton Liberal Democrats and residents fought for the trial scheme to be made permanent, the GoSutton bus was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Many residents with mobility problems told us the scheme was a lifeline for them and the flexibility of the service meant that people didn't have to use their cars so often to get across the borough.
Sutton receives the lowest amount of public transport funding per resident in London and has done so for many years despite having the worst public transport links.
Now that the Sutton tram has been ditched the Government urgently needs to step in and work with the London Mayor to fund an on-demand bus service for Sutton that covers the whole borough and extends to other transport interchanges like Morden Underground and East Croydon station.
