Sutton Council are consulting about how to solve parking problems in the borough.
With new developments in the pipeline, commuter parking pressures and the wide-spread dependency of cars to travel in the borough, we must take action now to future-proof our roads before the problem gets much worse.
In the first stage of the consultation, many areas indicated support for a parking scheme in their road. But some residents were unhappy with elements of the proposed Controlled Parking Zones, such as the yellow lines in front of their dropped kerbs, and the overall loss of parking space.
We think a Parking Permit Area (PPA) could be a better alternative than a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), in areas where any scheme is required.
