Making Carshalton Station accessible to all

At the moment, it's difficult to think of anything good to say about rail services in our area, but we were very pleased to learn that Network Rail has stated it is committed to delivering the "Access for All" programme of station upgrades.

Tom Brake MP, Cllr Jill Whitehead and Cllr Hamish Pollock celebrating securing funding to improve Carshalton Station.

Carshalton Station is one of 40 stations across the U.K. that will be completed - we understand - by 2019.

Tom Brake MP and Carshalton Central Councillors Jill Whitehead, Chris Williams and Hamish Pollock, have been monitoring the position carefully.

They will keep a very close watch on the timetable and make sure that Network Rail keeps residents up-to-date with progress towards delivering a station that is fully accessible to all users.

Funding for the improvements was secured by the Lib Dems in the Coalition Government.
