Liberal Democrat London Mayor candidate Luisa Porritt has announced plans for a London Housing Company to deliver affordable homes for Londoners.
The proposed London Housing Company will take charge of delivering homes directly. It will bring empty homes back into use, convert deserted offices into high-quality housing, and reinvest profits to develop new sites to meet demand.
Luisa told BBC London News that we face a “once in a generation opportunity to tackle the housing crisis”. Her plan for homes builds on the reality that home-working will be the new normal and offices will see less demand. It comes as part of Luisa's ambitious plan to take London forward after pandemic.
