Top marks for Sutton students

Good news for pupils across the borough with another round of excellent A-Level and GCSE results.

61% of A-Level students achieved the highest A* to B grades, with a staggering 98.5% of pupils getting A* to E grades - beating the UK average.

Despite significant changes to the grading of this year’s GCSEs, Sutton schools continue to perform to a high standard, with over 70% of pupils getting 5 A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Lib Dem Councillor Wendy Mathys, Chair of Council’s Education Committee, said: “Sutton has always had reason to be rightly proud of the success of our hard-working students and high-achieving schools.

“Thank you to the committed teachers, governors and support staff in all our local schools for everything they have contributed to this success.”

Carshalton & Wallington MP Tom Brake said: “These results reinforce Sutton’s reputation as a great place to study and raise a family. Well done to pupils, parents and school staff.”
