Still time to renew Freedom Passes

Sutton residents have maintained their record for embracing the internet with more than 85% of the borough’s Freedom Passes being renewed online - one of the best rates in London.

However the Liberal Democrat Leader of Sutton Council, Ruth Dombey, said older people who had not renewed their passes could still travel free for a few more weeks.

She said: “Your pass will not work on the card readers, but Transport for London (TfL) and railway staff will accept it anyway.”

Ruth urged those people who had not done so to renew their expired pass immediately at www.freedompass.org using the unique renewal number they should have received by post.

Ruth Dombey added: “If you don’t have your letter, phone London Councils on 0300 330 1433, and if you’re not comfortable with computers, you can visit any Sutton library where staff will help you fill out the quick, easy online form.”
