Save the Children seeks new local volunteers

The Sutton and Cheam President of the international charity, Save the Children, Lord Graham Tope, has issued an appeal for volunteers to help the local group with its fund-raising and promotional activities.

He said Save the Children in Sutton and Cheam was a very active group but needed new support to help it continue its good work.

“We’re looking for people who might be able to devote up to 10 hours a month on administration work, and people who could offer up to five hours a month to improve contact with local schools to explain the work of Save the Children both in the UK and internationally,” Graham Tope said.

Save the Children is an international non-governmental organisation that works in 120 countries promoting children's rights, providing relief and helping to support children.

Save the Children in Sutton and Cheam is one of about 200 local support groups for the charity and raised more than £50,000 through its charity shop in Cheam, and from other fund-raising events and activities.
