Bobby Dean: Reporting back

Campaigning on the issues that matter to local people

Bobby has been working with the local Lib Dem team to fight for Carshalton & Wallington over the past year. Here is just some of what they've been working on:

Bobby outside a health centre with a resident

HEATHCARE

Bobby is standing up for our NHS.

He is leading the fight to save St Helier Hospital’s A&E and Maternity services and calling for more GPs to be recruited to tackle waiting lists.

As the Council’s mental health champion, he has helped bring the Be Well initiative to our borough to support residents.

RIVER WANDLE

Bobby has launched a community campaign to protect the River Wandle from sewage dumping.

He is holding Thames Water and the Government to account for their failures.

He produced a documentary with a local film crew to shine a light on the issue. Watch the film at wandlefilm.co.uk.

COST OF LIVING

Bobby is fighting for real action on the rising cost of living.

He is calling for a crackdown on supermarket profiteering to bring down food prices, and more support for people with rocketing mortgages and rents.

To cut energy bills, he is campaigning for a windfall tax on energy firm profits.

COMMUNITY

Bobby is active and visible in our community.

He regularly attends and supports local events like the Wallington Music Festival, Carshalton Artists Open Studios (CAOS), St Helier Music and Community Festival and more.

He also plays for Carshalton FC, an amateur football club based at Beddington Park.

CRIME & POLICING

Bobby meets with the police regularly to raise residents’ concerns about local crime.

He wants to make sure Sutton remains one of the safest boroughs in London.

He is calling for more community policing in our area and for every crime to be properly investigated.

Bobby at a train station

TRAIN SERVICES

Bobby is calling for a return to a full rail timetable and proper investment in local services.

Commuters have had to put up with unreliable trains for far too long.

He is also campaigning for better accessibility at local stations, particularly Carshalton Beeches and Hackbridge.

Bobby at a local business

LOCAL BUSINESSES

Bobby runs his own small business and is determined to champion others to keep the local economy strong.

He supports our community's great local pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops -- and is calling for more support to keep local high streets and shopping parades thriving.

Bobby with speaking to residents

CARE

Bobby is passionate about improving carers' rights, having been in the care of his grandparents as a young teenager.

He's hosted a roundtable in Carshalton High Street with local kinship carers so they can share their first-hand experiences.

As a local Councillor on Sutton Council, Bobby works to improve the support available to carers and care leavers.
