That’s why funding was recently secured for new trees and 12 have now been planted at Woodcote Green. As well as new trees, funding has also been agreed for a new bench and a new information board.

The board will provide local residents with some history of the area, including; the small holdings, the lavender fields, Woodcote Manor and the air raid shelter.

Local Lib Dem Councillors have also secured funding for a new canopy to provide shade from the sun when the parents and children are using the infant playground at Mellows Park and a new outdoor gym.

Manuel Abellan, Lib Dem Councillor for Beddington South, said: “The lovely parks and abundance of trees across our area make it such a great place to live, work and raise a family. I’m really pleased that we’ve secured more trees and more amenities for our green spaces.”
