The money will go towards improving public spaces and cycling and walking facilities along Beddington Lane and in Beddington Village.

The plans include installing new benches, bus shelters and trees, improving road crossings to make them safer and a new segregated bike lane along Beddington Lane, providing a safe route between the Tramlink, Beddington Village, Beddington Park and Hackbridge.

Lib Dem Councillor Ruth Dombey, Leader of the Council, said: “It is very exciting to see this investment going into Beddington, funding essential improvements to the roads and public spaces.

“Thank you to local Councillors Pat Ali and Nighat Piracha for all the work they have put into this.”
